For Steve Ramsey of Fallston, Maryland, the three year metamorphosis of his superb '40 Ford coupe was easily worth the wait. Originally a gasser doing time on the streets during the 50's and 60's, the car was completely disassembled by Dave Vrankin, who together with Steve, mapped out the new life for the tired old coupe. Sitting on a Fatman chassis complete with a polished IFS, power rack & pinion, and big brakes, it was packed with a decadent 502-inch Chevy mill topped with loads of glamour and a nasty Hilborn multi-port fuel injection. Dave treated the body to numerous custom updates including rounded door edges, a 3" channel, and widened inner rear fenders before soaking it with DuPont Hot Hues Midnight Tides gloss. Inside Paul Atkins worked his magic creating a sumptuous leather business office with plenty of comfort features. Rolling on Colorado Custom wheels shod with Goodyear rubber, this Top 100 selection easily rolled into the winners circle.
